Touch becomes hurried
when we are busy fighting
the nature of the gradient
of our time together.
We are two forces
almost aligned. We move
rocks one at a time.
We have never flooded
the landscape we intended
to, but we have worked
through the black dirt
to the crop in the field
many times. If given
the chance, we could find
a tide out of nothing.
