Birds can see magnetic fields,
crescents on the shadows
between blue lines –
I am at the Point of Totality
watching mystical history

A phantom panther leaps
across the sky,
swallowing the sun –
Everything is panther

Melissa Silva is a Poet and a Nurse, living in the Boston area. She has studied Contemporary and Asian Poetry, Fiction Writing, and Storytelling. She is a co-founder of the Poetry Sisters Collective, and was a member of the performing collective Storytellers in Concert. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Tuck Magazine, The Lily Review, Writing In A Woman’s Voice, One Word Sentence, and others. She does promotion for Červená Barva Press, Somerville, MA.
