We diverge
from the horizon, blinking
into a sudden antumbra. Strangers
occult as the sun’s corona
blinds. I bend away in a wink
of sunlight. The air sparks gold until
our syzygy statics. At dusk we vanish
The echo of your voice haunts
the place I stand alone.
Every shadow
is the action of another.
Our silhouettes distort,
blur, & lengthen with time.
Our forms umbrate to sfumato.
At noon we disappear
into one; for a moment,
our darks converge. Your feet
chase mine until we grow
out of each other.
